HURDLES SCHEDULE (ALL CLINICS)

What to expect

Spend 2 days learning from some of the best minds in the sport.

TRAINING IN ALL FACETS OF THE HURDLES

At Ascent Track & Field Clinics, athletes in the hurdles group spend two focused days developing the acceleration, technical skills, and race mechanics required for high-level hurdling.

Day one emphasizes acceleration fundamentals, block setup, and technique through coached stations that address cut step mechanics, trail leg action, and efficient takeoff, before athletes split into short and long hurdle groups to apply these skills in event-specific progressions.

Day two builds on that foundation with advanced acceleration work using resisted and assisted drills, followed by detailed technical progressions through a variety of event-specific and individually coached drills for high and long hurdlers.

Across both days, athletes progress with an emphasis on building on the fundamentals of the event and putting it all together. Athletes will also be taught important ancillary and injury prevention work, and be part of coach-led discussions that will give them a clear, transferable framework for hurdling performance beyond the clinic.
