Walker-Hall coached Maya Tucker and Cristal Cuervo, who consistently were the team’s top performers in the 200-meter dash. Both athletes broke the school record in the event, which was ultimately claimed by Cuervo who ran a 23.29 at ECAC Outdoor Championships to win the event. Tucker first broke it at the Norfolk State University Invitational after clocking a 23.42.
She oversaw Manie Mevo for the 2023 outdoor slate, who had a breakout freshman year season. Mevo improved her triple jump mark by 1.17m over the course of 3 months, leading her to become the champion in the event at back-to-back conference meets. She took first at the Costal Athletic Association (CAA) championships in 12.35m, then claimed another gold medal at the Eastern College Athletic Conference championships with a new school record mark of 12.84m. The Gaithersburg, Maryland native also qualified for the Outdoor NCAA Preliminary Round in the event.
In her second season with the Tigers, Coach Walker continued to grow the program as the team saw nine school records, 31 top-10 all-time marks, 12 All-CAA honors and four conference weekly awards. At the second annual Indoor Coastal Athletic Association (CAA) Championships, the Black & Gold saw their highest finish as they placed fourth out of 12 teams, only behind reigning champions Northeastern, Elon and Campbell. During the indoor season the team set four school records and accomplished 21 marks in the top-10 all-time list. Cristal Cuervo broke the 200m school record, becoming the first Towson woman under 24 seconds after clocking a 23.78. Cuervo set a record in the 400m as well, running 54.25 to become the CAA Indoor Champion in the event. The Distance Medley Relay broke the school record twice, ultimately at CAAs where Lexi Mogensen, Satori Valentine, Baara Stewart and Aubrey Schaffer ran a 12:11.95. Manie Mevo set the school record during her gold medal performance in the triple jump at CAAs, leaping 12.51m which was also the conference record in the event. During outdoor season, five more school records were broken; Maya Tucker in the 100m dash (11.38), Cristal Cuervo in the 400m (53.24), Fatimah Owens in the discus (52.25m), the 4x400 relay (3:42.10) and the 4x100 relay (44.67). The 4x100 relay crew of Sydney Tucker, Maya Tucker, Cristal Cuervo and Ty’Liyah Hannah broke the record three separate times during the season. After being projected to place seventh the team finished in fifth place at the Outdoor CAA Championship, supported by eight podium finishes, one of which was a gold medal from Manie Mevo in the triple jump. Four Tigers qualified for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field East Preliminary Round, three of which were returners from last season.
